Grapes ぶどう

In July each year, the most expensive grapes in the world come on the market in Japan.

They are the Ruby Roman variety which are grown and marketed only in the Ishikawa region of Japan. The grapes are red, as the name suggests, and each grape is about the size of a ping-pong ball.

The sweetness of the fruit and the low acidity make it very marketable. It is also thought that the first batch brings good luck so prices reached unbelievable levels today (July 7th).

If you are interested in buying a bunch you will become poorer to the tune of \1,100,000 (more than $10,000 US.) Today`s news stated that there about 26 grapes in a bunch so each grape is worth about $400!

Do some people have so much money that they do not know what to do with it?

How can that kind of spending be justified?

このぶどうの名前は、ルビーローマンと呼ばれ、　日本の石川県で生産されます。

そのぶどうはワイン色、深紅の色でピンポンボールの大きさです。

とても甘く、酸味が少ないので人気がある味です。

そして、売り出し日（7月7日）の最初に買う人は幸運を手にすると言うので値段が急騰します。

一房が何と100万円です。この房は26粒のぶどうなので、一粒38500円になります。

こんな高い物を買う人がいるのだから驚きます。世の中にはお金が余って仕方がない人がいるんですね。

私には、無駄使いと思えます。
