「神の守り」ダニエル１God`s Protection Daniel I

いつの時代にも、どこの国でも、罪深い人間の世界では、いじめ、迫害があります。人は正しく、良心に忠実に生きるようにすると、なおさら、周囲から嫌がらせ、迫害を受けます。　「確かに、キリスト・イエスにあって敬虔に生きようと願う者はみな、迫害を受けます。」テモテII．3:12　

バビロン捕囚の捕虜として、イスラエルから連れてこられた敬虔な三人のユダヤ人たちは偶像礼拝を拒否しました。王の命令を恐れずに、金の像を拝まなかったのは、神の律法を固く信じていたからです。「あなたには、わたしのほかに、ほかの神々があってはならない。偶像を造ってはならない。… それらを拝んではならない。それらに仕えてはならない。出エジプト20:３－5　訴えられたのは、三人の若者、シャデラク、メシャクおよびアベデ・ネゴでした。

自分の命令に従わないと聞いて、ネブカドネザル王は怒りに燃えました。そして、王は命令に背けば政府に仕える役人であっても、容赦なく刑を執行して殺されること明確に告げました。「拝むことをしないならば、ただちに火の燃える炉の中に投げ込まれる。いったい、どの神が、わたしの手からあなたがたを救うことができようか」。ダニエル3:14,15　普通なら、絶大な権力者の王から、直接に脅迫されれば、その圧力に屈して、妥協してしまうでしょう。しかし、この三人の信仰は立派なものでした。神様が必ず守ってくださる、救い出してくださると固く信じていました。 もしそんなことになれば、わたしたちの仕えている神は、その火の燃える炉から、わたしたちを救い出すことができます。また王よ、あなたの手から、わたしたちを救い出されます。ダニエル3:17　

三人は神様が救ってくださると信じ告白したばかりか、たとえ、殺されようとも金の像を拝まないと宣言しました。彼らは、義を貫くために、真理を守るためには、死ぬ覚悟ができていました。

たといそうでなくても、王よ、ご承知ください。わたしたちはあなたの神々に仕えず、またあなたの立てた金の像を拝みません」。3:18　ここで、もし、彼らがご利益的な信仰を持ち、自分の繁栄、快適な生活を願うために神を信じているような者であったなら、このような迫害の圧力に耐えることはできなかったでしょう。神様を自分の主人として、仕える信仰を持っていなければ、迫害に耐えられません。

三人は縛られたままで、火の燃える炉の中に投げ込まれましたが、そのとき、不思議なことが起こりました。3:19-23　「主を愛するものは、主が守られる。」詩篇145:20　

火の中に投げ込んだのは三人でしたが、火の中に四人いたのでした。火の中を、なわを解かれて歩いている四人の者が見える。しかも彼らは何の害も受けていない。第四の者の姿は神々の子のようだ。」3:24,25　王はこの三人が死なずに火の中に立っているのを見て、すぐ炉の火から出てくるように命じました。3:26 　

この奇跡を目撃したネブカドネザル王は驚くと同時に、三人の若者が信じる神がいかに力あるお方であるかを知りました。それで、王は、この三人を赦し、復帰させ、栄えさせます。さらに、天地の造り主なる真の神を敬うように国民に奨励します。これは、今日では無神論者の中国の独裁者習近平が回心して、公にイエス・キリストの偉大さを認めて、宗教弾圧を中止することを公表するのに匹敵する出来事です。

信仰こそ、勝利の秘訣です。なぜなら、神によって生まれた者はみな、世に勝つからです。私たちの信仰、これこそ、世に打ち勝った勝利です。Iヨハネ５:４　私たちの力には限りがあり、自分の力ではどうすることもできない困難、誘惑に直面します。そんな時、この天地万物を造ってくださった、全能なる神様を信じられたら、なんと幸いなことでしょうか。

現在の新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の中での苦境や、その他の苦境にあって、燃える炉の中で第四の人に守られた三人の若者のように創造主なる全能の神の守りを信じましょう。クリスチャンたちが迫害から救われるように神の守りを祈り求めましょう。今の苦境を通して逆に飛躍できますように祈りましょう。

In every age and every country, amongst sinful people, bullying and persecution can be found. When a person tries to live right according to their conscience they are hated and persecuted. “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” II Timothy 3:12. Three pious young men who had been taken as captives to Babylon refused to bow down to idols. They firmly believed in God`s commands and without fear refused to bow down to the golden image. “You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an image…you shall not bow down to them or worship them.” Exodus 20:3-5. The three young men in question were Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego.

Hearing that they would not obey his command, the king was incensed. He informed them that if they did not obey his command, even though they were officials in the land, they would be shown no mercy and would be killed. “If you do not worship the image I made, you will be thrown immediately into a blazing furnace. Then what god will be able to rescue you from my hand?” Daniel 3:15. Normally, when threatened by a powerful ruler, a person would give in to the pressure and compromise. The faith of these three is quite astounding. They firmly believed that God would protect them and save them. “If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to deliver us from it, and He will deliver us from Your Majesty`s hand.” Daniel 3:17. Not only did they profess that their God was able to save them but also that even if they were to die they would not bow down to the golden image. They were prepared to die in order to maintain their stand and protect the truth. “But even if He does not, we want you to know, Your Majesty, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.” Daniel 3:18. If they had a self-serving faith which gave them a comfortable life and a measure of honour they would not have been able to withstand the pressure that was put on them. Unless we make God our Lord and seek to serve Him we will be unable to withstand such persecution.

The three were bound securely and thrown into the blazing furnace and a miraculous event occurred. Daniel 3:19-23. “The Lord watches over all who love Him.” Psalm 145:20. Three men were bound and thrown into the fire but amazingly four men could be seen in there. Astounded, the king cried, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.” Daniel 3:24, 25. Seeing the three unharmed in the midst of the fire, he told them to come out.

King Nebuchadnezzar was amazed at what he saw and knew from this miracle that the One the three men believed in was a God of great power. He forgave them, restored them and promoted them. He also ordered the people to honour the Creator, the God of the three. If the ruler of the atheistic country, China should publicly recognize the greatness of Jesus and order a halt to religious persecution it would be a similar event.

Faith is the key to victory. “This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.” I John 5:4. We are limited and unable to overcome troubles and temptations in our own strength. How blessed we are if, at those times, we could put our trust in the omnipotent Creator, God. At this time, with the Covid 19 pandemic and in other trials let us remember and believe that the fourth person in the fire with the three men is also with us. Let us pray for protection for our Christian brothers and sisters who are being persecuted for their faith. Let us believe that we can soar despite the situation we are in.
